Abstract

Medication adherence is dependent on many factors. One of them is the nature of the doctor-patient relationship and especially doctor trust. Hence, the purpose of this study is to determine the influence of trust in the doctor-patient relationship on medication adherence. The results of a representative survey carried out among 1,000 people shows that people who follow the doctor’s instructions at the same time declare a higher level of trust in each dimension, while those „independent” much lower. Differences in the level of trust is particularly important for trust in the quality of communication.
